About

Lawrence Elizabeth Knox is a writer, editor, and photographer based in Northwest Arkansas (but willing to travel anywhere)!

A former professional ballet dancer with Tulsa Ballet, Lawrence has long believed in the transformative power of the arts. Since retiring from the stage and earning a degree in journalism from Boston University, she has enjoyed sharing stories that highlight difference makers and uplifting the arts community through her words and photographs. No matter the subject, she strives to capture genuine emotion in candid moments and maintains a reputation for her reliability, attention to detail, and enthusiasm.

For eight years, she worked as a freelance writer and photographer in Houston, where she fulfilled the photographic needs for large nonprofit organizations like Houston Ballet, Houston Grand Opera, Buffalo Bayou Partnership, and Discovery Green Conservancy, in addition to Weingarten Art Group, Moët Hennessy, high-end event planners, and more. As a writer, she regularly contributed to the Houston Chronicle and Modern Luxury’s regional lifestyle magazines. She also taught adult ballet classes at Houston Ballet and METdance and led a children’s dance program at River Oaks Country Club.

In 2024, Lawrence returned to her home state of Arkansas to live closer to family, and she has since worked at Art Bridges Foundation—first as storytelling and communications manager, then as senior manager of marketing and communications, and now as a contract copy editor and communications consultant. She also contributes to publications like At Home in Arkansas and CitiScapes, and she supports the communication efforts of 99 Balloons, a nonprofit for people with disabilities.

Recently, she founded Lawrence Elizabeth, LLC, providing communications, editorial, and photography services to a growing clientele across Arkansas and beyond.

Lawrence truly believes a smile can change a life, and when not working, she can be found spending time with her family, teaching ballet classes, practicing yoga, exploring local coffee shops, or walking her spunky pups, Feni and Frankie.
